Source of the gameplay mechanics (Because I can’t read Japanese): shrinemaiden. All in all it’s another good Touhou fighting game, but I still wish the spellcard system from Scarlet Weather Rhapsody/Hisoutensoku would make a return. The occult ball gimmick isn’t anything special, and is vaguely a copy of the Final Smash from the more recent Smash Bros games. The controls feel better and the content doesn’t disappoint either (for a demo version). The backgrounds for the stages are pretty much reused and modified versions of the previous fighter.įor now I can say that this game is an improvement compared to Hopeless Masquerade. There are also no oversized eyebrows anymore like in Touhou 13.5 or any other odd looking proportions. The new character portraits feel dynamic, making the characters feel alive. Especially during dialogue it’s no longer just a different face for an expression.

They are harmless if people aren’t afraid of them though. Urban legends are little stories only backed up by rumours to drive people into fear. I will be reviewing the demo version which was released on Comiket 87. It is a fighting game that uses the same aerial battle mechanics from Touhou 13.5 ~ Hopeless Masquerade, but with new characters, plot and random nonsense. Touhou 14.5 Shinhiroku ~ Urban Legend in Limbo is the latest installment in the Touhou Project series.
